Party Updates.

Dear everyone,
this post consists of highly important details on the party on 9th Jan!!

Please read carefully to get all the necessary information. (If you miss out anything, Sher and I won't be held responsible, haha.)

& try your best not to overwrite this post. If you really really need to overwrite, please make a note on your post to notify the existence of this very important post.

So, after a month of meticulous planning by yours truly and our dearest Shermaine, we have come up with this really nice plan. It's gonna be so fun.

ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: DO NOT SHOP FOR THE GIFT YET. WE'LL DO SHOPPING ON THAT DAY ITSELF, AFTER KNOWING WHO OUR GIFT WILL BE FOR. =)

Meeting day & time: 9th Jan, Fri, 2pm.
Meeting venue: Dhoby Ghaut MRT control station.
Events:
#1. Dining @ Lao Beijing at Plaza Sing from 3pm to 5pm*
#2. Heading to a secret place with free admission (This is damn cool.)
#3. Gift exchange. Shopping at Plaza Sing.
Ending time: Approx. 10+ pm
* Rachel and Dinglun can join us for #2 and #3 since you guys will come late.

Alright. Thats about all.
Secretive = Fun = Exciting.

If you've already bought the gift, then never mind lor. Can always accompany others to shop. I mean can't prob ask you to throw away/ refund right.. unless you dont mind buying another one and keeping the original one for own use. Haha.

Most importantly, Sher has given up hope on receiving smses and emails.
So we shall just stick to our tagboard.

Mediacorp Attachment -- 2nd Batch

In the first day, benny and jolyn were busy searching for articles written overseas, repackaged it and post it on xin.sg. They managed to post something written quite well!

The other three were kept busy by doing transcript. Mine was rather challenging, because the interviewee could hardly be understood. In the afternoon, Karen followed a reporter and went outdoor, so lucky… so left with charlene and I doing whole day of transcript.

At 6.30pm, the remaining four of us in the office went to watch their studio. Very cool! The 主播 have to get a lot of cues from the 导播, so it wasn’t just reading from the text machine. Audience would see the very glamorous looking 主播 on tv, but at the studio, we got to see the other side of them…oops.

Our studio is always packaged beforehand. Theirs’ is totally live. They just need to press a button and a template will be played, or the current view will be changed to another view. When the commercial break is about to end, someone will say, ‘standby’. 导播 will then say 10secs…10,9,8…1, then another person will press a button and the view will change from advertisement back to news. 导播 also got shout ‘CG up’ and ‘lose CG’ etc.

Second morning arrived. Benny and jolyn, once again stayed in the office. Karen and I were listening to reporter 梁凯欣 explaining about the current news she was handling, and she also introduced the kind of news broadcasted at different time of the day.

In the afternoon, Charlene came. Both of us followed 张颂景 to some kind of welfare for physically disabled. The topic itself was already quite boring. Nevertheless, we were glad that it was a great exposure for us. We got to see how the reporter expands news and how the cameraman got his footages even though he wasn’t allowed to film the faces there.

Meanwhile, Karen followed kaixin; benny and jolyn were still in the office…

Third day was the most exciting day for me. I did not go to the office after I reached mediacorp, instead, I went straight to the camera unit. It was a place where all cameramen could be found. Everyday, the reporters would book a slot in the mediacorp website, and then cameramen who are free at that time would be arranged to the same slot as the reporter. For your information, camera unit has 39 cameramen and 40+ giant cameras.

The cameraman, teufex, drove me to tuas via mediacorp car. Tuas ave 14, a new place located at the end of Singapore. Therefore, the cameramen took a very long time to find that place. Haha. Reporter 吴俍祥 was already waiting at the venue. After the shooting at the first location, we went to the second location, a pub at orchard. And I got my free lunch, worth $20 fish & chips, very nice!

After that, I went back to office transcripting. Liang xiang passed the tapes to the people in the ingestion section. Ingestion = capturing the image from tapes to computer.

At 6pm, all five of us went to the editing room to see the mediacorp people doing editing. Reporters who know how to edit can edit themselves; those who do not know how to edit will let the people in the editing room do the editing.

Later, we went to watch 6.30pm news again.

So, after watching 6.30pm news at the studio again, we went for a tour around mediacorp.

End of tour

Last day of the week. I followed Huang Wei Jing to subordinate court. In the court, there were glass walls separating the audience and the admin people. Within the glass, there was a judge, lawyers and police officers. Reporters sat inside too, so I was sitting within the glass, one row behind police officers and lawyers.

One guy sitting on my left suddenly tapped on my shoulder.
"You are a reporter?"
" Reporter Intern."
"Interpreter?!"
"Reporter."
And he ended off with," wa...you are very young." He then walked off. LOL

That's the end of the first week. Second week isn't up yet. The rest shall post more for now. =)

Outhing Post 3, Final Details

YEO LI HUI IS GONE. She has left me all alone to decide on the date :'(

& since it's a fight between 6th & 9th, I'd go with 9th since Dinglun will be back on that day!!

Lunch will be at Dimsum Buffet at Lao Beijing, Plaza Singapura~ :) The hi-tea buffet is from 3-5pm, with last order at 4.30pm, and its about $10+ each.

For gift exchange, we will do a random generation, and post up the details(e.g who you're getting the gift for) in the next post. But before that can be done, I need to confirm attendance, so everyone, please sms/email me to confirm your attendance by 26th December. Please please please co-operate kay? :) Tags will be ignored cuz you all spam so much I might miss out on someone :(

Outing post (collated results)

Dear all, votings are now closed & below are the results.... though you can probably see them already haha :)

Since the most votes were for any date. We'll consider the following dates in this order...

2nd, Friday
6th, Tuesday
3rd, Saturday
9th, Friday
5th, Monday

Secondly, our activity would most likely be to have a buffet since it gathered the most votes (awww, Lihui!!!)

The gift budget would be around $10-15! We'll post details about how to carry that out soon, so.. start saving up if you're broke! :)

Sadly, there's to be another round of voting for the buffet venue because there's a tie! Seems like we all have different tastes....

Do take note that since we've decided on buffet, it'd probably be lunch since most places don't offer dinner buffet (okay they do but it's all VERY expensive haha)

Reason: Teddy asked the seniors to plan an outing. So, we've decided it to be a NEW YEAR PARTY!

So: Lihui & I have come up with some suggestions.... and you guys get to vote! Aren't we nice :) :) :)

P.S: This party is OPEN TO ALL.

Gift Exchange Rules
There are basically no rules! Except that your gift is not for a specific someone. It's kinda like we buy gifts, wrap it, and then dump them into a big bag and grab one item from the bag or something hahaha. Or.... you'd prefer other ways? (so that no guys will get a barbie & cry cuz lihui say one) Tag to let us know!! :) Haha this sounds like an advert...

SDMA + mediacorp

My sdma is finally completed!! but that's completed two weeks ago lah actually haha. my grp members as some of you alrdy know is yuzhen, leting, thai xiong, ding lun and me of course. =)

our project is based on the goflykite kites as featured in the ndp 07.

as for mediacorp,

first week i was with the news reporter side so i got a chance to help in the mumbai report at changi airport by guowei. the same one tat daniel filmed. anyway I was just watching n being the bag carrier hahaha...

then this week i went to the xin.sg side i went with one of the xin.sg staff to the happy office grand finals... helped in taking photos for xin.sg =)

的。。。。自己看啦！

（吴晓彤) 为期两个星期的实习马上就要结束了，心

中充满了种种不舍与感激，不舍在这里交到的朋

友，感激他们所传授的知识与技巧。虽然这次的实

习只有短短的两个星期，但我真的获益匪浅！撰

稿、剪辑、录音、对镜报道，这一切的一切，看

似、听似

简单，但其中的技巧与心思，确是不可忽视的！制

作新闻的时间虽然很赶，但在大家

的共同努力下，一则则真实的新闻在电视上播出

了！真是让人兴奋！

在实习的第一个星期，我跟随了几名新传媒记者外

出实地采访。兴奋、紧张、欣喜之

余，还掺杂着点点的骄傲！毕竟，那是我第一次跟

随记者外出，公众投来的那种好奇

的目光，让我的内心产生了一种奇妙的感觉。我觉

得，记者们真的是很了不起！在短

短的时间内记住自己对镜报道的内容、临场反映提

出针对性的问题、面对一切的难

题，他们都要做出正确的判断。在电视上看起来严

肃的记者们私下却也是那么的友

善，跟他们相处的日子里充满了欢笑！

在以前，我一直想当一位主播，因为我觉得主播是

一件很轻松的工作，但自从我去了

主播室，看了主播是怎样工作后，我对他们便肃然

起敬！主播真的是不容易，要一心

三用，听指示、读稿、还要掌握好时间，能在突发

情况下做出相对的应变。虽说是主

播，但有时他们也要担任起记者的工作，外出采

访，真的是不简单！

接下来的一个星期，我跟新动网，帮他们选稿、外

出做娱乐新闻，我真的觉得自己好

幸运，学到了太多太多的经验与技巧！最让我难忘

的是，有一次，我代表新动网到新

传媒的化妆室去采访一部新戏的演员。这是我第一

次与艺人做近距离的接触，访问他

们，那种感觉真的是前所未有的！原来，当记者的

感觉是这样啊！我还有幸跟随新动

网的记者去采访了郭富城，真是让我欣喜万分！

我想，我真的是很幸运，有幸到新传媒实习，这次

所学到的经验，我将获用终生！

（司徒健勤）在我跟随新动网的时候，我负责从各

大网站上找娱乐新闻。本来，我以为是一项容易的

工作，但事实却恰恰相反，要注意到很多小小的细

节如：艺人在新受

欢迎的程度、新闻的切入点等等。在这段时间，我

还有幸去参加了《海角七号》的记

者会，跟范逸臣、林晓培和田中千绘，做了近距离

的接触。在新动网的记者访问他们

的时候，我意识到了记者在提问时时候，是怎样连

接不同的问题的，是怎样引导受访

者讲出自己想要的重点的。从他们身上，我真的学到了很多的经验。

与艺人的访问不同，实事新闻组的受访者一般没有

准备自己的讲稿，大多都是临场发

挥，讲求事实。在我跟新闻记者的那段日子里，我

发觉到记者们在去事发地的时候，

都会想好要拍什么样的画面，而不同的画面又要跟

什么样的稿。最后，两者合二为

一，经过完美的搭配，才能完成一则完整的新闻。

这次的实习中，我得到了很多亲自体验的经历，像

是用他们的仪器来剪辑画面，实地

拍摄，等等。这样的感觉真的是很酷！

So proud of our L3K team for doing such a good job! Continue to jiayou! As moral support, their very nice (ahem?) seniors went to visit them filming and also played calefares. =)
