Hello! Last year, a group of CNNY excos went for the mediacorp attachment. They are Si Hui, Cheryl, Geok Tin, Yufei, Kangzhi and me. Its was really a fun and thrilling experince for us! The first day when we went to the mediacorp chinese news office, we received a warm welcome from all the people working there. They were really friendly and took care of us. Some of them even took us around the mediacorp building to visit different departments( channelnewsaisa, channel 5, radio station etc)We get to follow the reporters around to watch them at work. We also visited the makeup room where the celebrities and news broadcaster go and have their make up. As the time when we went for this mediacorp attachment was during festive season, there were many different kinds of food that were available in the office. The food was very delicious!We also get to watch the live news broadcasting and able to feel the tense atmosphere when the news was about to air but some reporters have not finish with their set of news. This experience is really memorable for us as we have never experience something like this before. We also learn various skills during our one-week attachment in the mediacorp Chinese News Department that includes transcripting, videography techniques, how a news works and many more! We learnt that news making is not as easy as many of us though it would be so i hope that future batches of CNNY will also get to go for mediacorp attachment and help to push our CCA to greater heights!
