CNNY-ers! Hope school has been treating all well and you are still enjoying your life in NY! I missed mine back then, so I hope you all are experiencing Nanyang and especially CNNY to the FULLEST!.
Project G.A.M.E is an initiative by team Texas from Singapore Management University, in which, onc of our senior, Joanne Chen (06-07 batch) was part of the team. Nanyang Junior College, Channel News Nanyang is proud to be one the main supporters and sponsors for this event. Project G.A.M.E – Good And Meaningful Experience, is a project aim to raise the awareness amongst upper primary and secondary school students to adverse effects of excessive gamming and in doing so, invite participants to pledge to game less and strive for a healthy balanced lifestyle. The event, a talk-cum game session took place at Radin Mas Primany School and Bedok South Secondary School, and we are glad to see the success of the event.
Team Texas is extremely appreciative towards Channel News Nanyang, Mr Cheng, and especially the director, Yi Ping and the head videographer, Benny and his team mates for their help and assistance in helping us film a short clip for our sponsor, Fei Yue Counseling Service. It was a pleasant experience once again to be able to work with fellow juniors, and see the CCA grow. Texas is pleased with the results of the filming, however, due to some unforeseeable circumstances, the original idea that was conceived could not be carried out as desired, henceforth there was a change of plans. Nevertheless, Texas was honored to engage CNNY in helping us to do much of the filming and lending us the equipments. We would also like to thank CNNY for your invaluable advice in this film making process, they have been constructive ones and have benefited us much.
Once and again, team Texas would like to express our greatest gratitude towards the enthusiasium and help that CNNY has offered us towards making Project G.A.M.E a success. Hereby, on behalf of my team, I would like to wish all CNNY members a bright future ahead and all the best for coming GCE ‘A’ level.

Dear everyone,
this post consists of highly important details on the party on 9th Jan!!
Please read carefully to get all the necessary information. (If you miss out anything, Sher and I won't be held responsible, haha.)

So, after a month of meticulous planning by yours truly and our dearest Shermaine, we have come up with this really nice plan. It's gonna be so fun.
ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: DO NOT SHOP FOR THE GIFT YET. WE'LL DO SHOPPING ON THAT DAY ITSELF, AFTER KNOWING WHO OUR GIFT WILL BE FOR. =)
Meeting day & time: 9th Jan, Fri, 2pm.

Mediacorp Attachment -- 2nd Batch
At 6.30pm, the remaining four of us in the office went to watch their studio. Very cool! The 主播 have to get a lot of cues from the 导播, so it wasn’t just reading from the text machine. Audience would see the very glamorous looking 主播 on tv, but at the studio, we got to see the other side of them…oops.
Our studio is always packaged beforehand. Theirs’ is totally live. They just need to press a button and a template will be played, or the current view will be changed to another view. When the commercial break is about to end, someone will say, ‘standby’. 导播 will then say 10secs…10,9,8…1, then another person will press a button and the view will change from advertisement back to news. 导播 also got shout ‘CG up’ and ‘lose CG’ etc.
The cameraman, teufex, drove me to tuas via mediacorp car. Tuas ave 14, a new place located at the end of Singapore. Therefore, the cameramen took a very long time to find that place. Haha. Reporter 吴俍祥 was already waiting at the venue. After the shooting at the first location, we went to the second location, a pub at orchard. And I got my free lunch, worth $20 fish & chips, very nice!

After that, I went back to office transcripting. Liang xiang passed the tapes to the people in the ingestion section. Ingestion = capturing the image from tapes to computer.

At 6pm, all five of us went to the editing room to see the mediacorp people doing editing. Reporters who know how to edit can edit themselves; those who do not know how to edit will let the people in the editing room do the editing.
Later, we went to watch 6.30pm news again.
So, after watching 6.30pm news at the studio again, we went for a tour around mediacorp.

End of tourLast day of the week. I followed Huang Wei Jing to subordinate court. In the court, there were glass walls separating the audience and the admin people. Within the glass, there was a judge, lawyers and police officers. Reporters sat inside too, so I was sitting within the glass, one row behind police officers and lawyers.
One guy sitting on my left suddenly tapped on my shoulder."You are a reporter?"
" Reporter Intern."
"Interpreter?!"
"Reporter."
And he ended off with," wa...you are very young." He then walked off. LOL
Outhing Post 3, Final Details
YEO LI HUI IS GONE. She has left me all alone to decide on the date :'(
& since it's a fight between 6th & 9th, I'd go with 9th since Dinglun will be back on that day!!
Lunch will be at Dimsum Buffet at Lao Beijing, Plaza Singapura~ :) The hi-tea buffet is from 3-5pm, with last order at 4.30pm, and its about $10+ each.

Dear all, votings are now closed & below are the results.... though you can probably see them already haha :)
Since the most votes were for any date. We'll consider the following dates in this order...

Secondly, our activity would most likely be to have a buffet since it gathered the most votes (awww, Lihui!!!)
The gift budget would be around $10-15! We'll post details about how to carry that out soon, so.. start saving up if you're broke! :)
Sadly, there's to be another round of voting for the buffet venue because there's a tie! Seems like we all have different tastes....
