A long emo post.

Hello to all.

We just finished filming the Volleyball Boys' A Div Finals today.
Met with rough pathes along the way which made ej and I felt kinda unjust. Haha.

But come to think of it, maybe it's just inevitable that media representatives are sometimes neglected & belittled. As reporters, it is only our responsibility to ensure that people acknowledge us, (and not ignore our presence) before they will agree to grant an interview. I didn't manage to do this today, maybe because i didn't chase after interviewees like i previously did. For this, it's my fault. :(

So yes, if you ever chance upon the role of a reporter, let it all out and make worthy interviews with nice people. Don't ever hesitate or procrastinate, for the very next minute, the interviewee may no longer be there.
Guess this is what our seniors meant by 'picking up reporting skills through work and experience'. :D

Anyways,
Was full of emotions after a heart-to-heart talk with ej, followed by a phone call with Rachel.
I know i may not be in the best position to make comments but i really feel like penning down my feelings and be understood. So, sorry in advance if i may sound a bit overbearing later.

Well, most of us are utmost apologetic for not having contributed more or done better for the past few months. It does feel that we lack what it takes to be a worthy exco. We are perhaps, too academic oriented. It also does seem that most of us are pressured by the piles of homework and the upcoming Mid Year Exam. Plus our fiasco as leaders for CNNY, it becomes impossible to stay happy.
Haish. I really do miss the wide grins on many of our faces.
Here's something i came across from RD, hope it helps:

10 ways to turn the frown upside down.

1. Be less virtual, more 3-D.
" If you sit at a computer all day, get up and indulge in some human contact instead. Even time with strangers ramps up your sense of well-being."

2. Make a list of things you truly appreciate.
"Counting your blessings may be the single most helpful thing you can do for your happiness quotient."

3. Rack 'em up.
" Think of every positive experience during the day as a bead on a string and see how they add up. This makes you focus on even the smallest possible moments."

4. Think memorable, not material.
" Memory of a good time with friends or loved ones last forever."

5. Go to the funny side.
" Humour amplifies the good things; so try to smile at the absurdities of life."

6. Escape to your stress-free zone.
" Forgo your work and undulge in something that will make you feel calm and happy."

7. See the glass as half full.
" If you stop and assess the stuffs in life, you'll see you actually have them pretty good."

8. Find your inner artist.
" Engaged in activities that you truly like- joyful expression can bring happiness."

9. Do something good.
" Deliver acts of kindness as often as possible. However small, they will brighten up your day."

10. Seize the moment.
" If you feel like doing something, do it now. Go ahead and be happier."

I was pretty glad to have read this and seriously hope that some of these methods will really allow us to retrieve our long-lost smiles.

Hmms.. afterall, life is not just about studies. Going back to the fundamentals, like treating people around you better and giving best shots in whatever duties we have do seem to bring more genuine and longlasting happiness, don't they?

Oh, & i can't agree more with that last point.
Somehow, maybe our exco failed to accomplish great because we tend to speak more than we act, allowing time to flow unknowingly. Of course, we only have ourselves to blame.

There are some problems that long prevail. some of us tried really hard to resolve while some of us chose to ignore. Since we jolly-well know feigning ignorance is unjust,

let's unite and give our best for the remaining month okay? :D

We can do wonders if we want to.
Yes, we really really can.
Let's all step down proudly.

So let's meet at the CCA room tmr alright?

Meanwhile, I have created a flickr link for cnny.

And if you really spare your time to read all of this, i am seriously thankful.
I hope that every CNNY member, not just the excos, will have a burning desire to contribute after reading this.
Hereby, i still need to thank avril, szexia and yihui for being such great members in my group! :D

I love you all, CNNY.

Take care.
Lihui.
