=)

And a big thanks to all (especially the J2s!)who helped out in these two days' of media camp!

Love Ya!
Yifang =)

Yoz!

Somehow I'm quite nervous yet excited about the upcoming Media Camp...hohoho...

Anyway, Just wana add on some more things.

1. Bring a jacket if you think LT3 is too cold for you.
(I was almost frozen to death last wed during the rehearsal...)

2. Pls put your bag at the back of LT3 on first day of Media Camp. You may want to take your valuables with you when you are out for filming with the schools.

oh~ I've exchanged our blog url with J-fire's. So visit them if you are free! ^^

Hope everything will run smoothly for the camp! =)

Those who are interested in running for an exco post, you may still register with me.
So far I have 15 people on the list.
If you think you have the passion for our CCA, please do not hesitate to become an Exco!
We Need You!

Frankly speaking, before I joined CNNY, I didn't know anything about producing a news clip.
Most of us were from very different CCA backgrounds. In fact, among us we have people from NPCC, Choir, Band, Table Tennis, Red Cross, Volleyball, Media Club, etc.
So experience is not the priority but your enthusiasm for CNNY.

So yea, take up the challenge and bring CNNY to a greater height! ^^

See Ya!
Yifang =)

ps: Guess what was my previous CCA? Those who know cannot answer! muahahaz.. =P

CCA 23/5

Hi all J1s & J2s, please note that there will be CCA as usual on this coming Wednesday 23/5/07. It will be 3pm at LT3. We will be finalising our media camp preparations and J2s on the SGC. Please also bring along $15 dollars for our new CCA tee. It is compulsory to buy and we will need to use it on media camp itself. TY.

Snakie

Hey J2s

Are you wondering what to write for your SGC?

Here are some events that you can consider.

1.Roving DV / Campus (so long as your project had been sent to Mediacorp, you can write about it)

2.Mediacamp 06 and 07

3.NY Nonstop (director, camraman, scriptwriter, etc)

4.Mediacorp Attachment (Applicable to some only)

5.BJ Competition orgarnised by 958 last year (if you had participated)

6.SVA

Hope you find this useful. =)

Pls also remember to inform kaili your CCA T-shirt (new) size latest by fri.

Thank you.

Yifang =)

Hey J1s!

Are you interested to be an Exco of CNNY 07-08?

Here are the post that you can choose from:
1. Director
2. Deputy Director
3. Head of Reporting (English)
4. Head of Reporting (Chinese)
5. Head of Editing
6. Deputy Head of Editing
7. Head of Camera
8. Deputy Head of Camera
9. Head of Logistics

Please note that there will only be 9 Excos in your batch.

Similar to last year, we will start our exco election after Media Camp 07 on 30 May.
You are eligible of application if you help out in Media Camp(for at least one day).
Therefore, regardless you are a new member or not, so long as you have helped out in the camp, we welcome you! =) (This is because usually we use Media Camp as a platform to observe your performance. If you fail to turn up, all of us won't know your capabilities)

For those who are eligible, you are given 1-2 mins on self-introduction.You are allowed to choose two positions that you want the most. After which, your friend/supporter will come forward and convince us why you should be elected.

When all the candidates and their supporters have finished, we will start our voting. Both J1s and J2s must vote.
Your vote is compulsory and confidential.
(However, final decision will not be made base on popularities, but your overall performance)

You can leave after casting your vote.
New batch of excos will be notified through phone calls on that very evening.
So wait for our calls.

Please feel free to tag at the tagboard should you have any enquiries.

Hi All

Hope you will have a better understanding after reading the comments below!
It'll be very useful for us to produce our news clips in the future!
Enjoy! =)

MEDIACORP NEW'S ROVING DV 2006 - FEEDBACK

SCHOOL
Nanyang Junior College

ENTRY
Film Festival

BROADCAST STATUS
Aired on 8 Oct 2006

JUDGES'FEEDBACK
Playing on the creativity of the JC's film festival made for an excellent theme for this report. It was a fun story, the students' response to the Film Fest came across well.

There were however some technical glitches to take note of for future reports.

The Chinese interview was done against a very noisy background.

The colour balancing was slightly problematic with some parts of the video appearing a little greenish.

The sound mix between different visuals was also a little abrupt at some points, especially the mix to rock band and away from rock band. One way is to fade up and down slightly before transitions where there is a distinct change in the level of ambience sound.

That said, we think this was a good clip and we are glad we had it for broadcast on our news bulleting, and we look forward to more entries from NYJC for Roving DV this year.

SCHOOL
Nanyang Junior College

ENTRY
MP Dialogue and Homecoming

BROADCAST STATUS
Aired on 18 Nov 2006

JUDGES'FEEDBACK
An interesting story, with a good mix of natural background sound and voice-voer. the pictures were well composed and well-shot, there was a good variety of pictures. the MP's connection with the students came across clearly.

However, it would have been interesting to have also heard what the MPs had to say about their own experiences as students. This could have made for some very engaging sound bites- eg what did they think of exams, boy-girl relationships, discipline in the JC etc. This was a golden opportunity which was not taken advantage of.

Student's piece to camera:
This came across a little hesitant. Remember, you are the reporter on the ground-your viewer wasn't there at the event. You know what transpired, you are the expert, so that confidence should come across. Aside from that, it was a very good delivery, you maintained eye contact with the camera throughout.

FYI- this clip was disqualified from the contest as the original entry submitted had a factual error with the MPs wrongly addressed as "Ministers". Factual accuracy is a vital criteria for all news reports.

However as this is a very good clip, MediaCorp News had contacted the school to re-submit an amended clip, so that it could still be aired even though it had been disqualified from teh competition itself.

=)

Happen to saw this postcard about Creative Industries Scholarships and found that Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) actually provide scholarships.
It says "The Media Education Scheme aims to build up media manpower capabilities in the TV, radio, film, publishing and digital media sectors".

hmm... Will I have the chance to get it? hmm...

Anyway, I've not explore all the webbies above, but just a quick browse, so do tell me if you find any interesting videos~
